1/2 hour earlier! We will be meeting in The Great Hall, which is in the
South (rear) of the Church, Our normal meeting space is being remodeled.

species and new varieties, join us. Non-members, visitors and guests are

- Our Bowl Show
categories for June are: 1.
Characins and Tetras. Neon’s, Serpaes, Black Tetra, Flame Tetra, Piranha,
Silver Dollars, Anostomus, Leporinus, Metynnis, Headstanders, etc.
Hatchets, Headstanders and Pencil Fish are classified as non-characins by
some, but are included in this class. Shown in twos, with a divider, if
necessary. 2. Barbs. All species of the genera barbus, Barbodes,
Capoeta and Puntius. Shown in pairs or twos. 3. Open
Classbring your best and win some prizes!

July 1.Livebearers. Mollies, Swords, Platys, Guppies & all
other fish of the Poecillae family.Shown in pairs. 2. Goldfish &
Koi. Shown as singles. 3. Open Class. August classes:
1. Marine Fish. Species that are exclusively marine. 2.
Large Neotropical Cichlids. Cichlids from North, Central, and South
America, not listed in any other category, whose adult size is over 4
inches; examples: Oscars, Jack Dempseys, Convicts, Festivums, Discus,
Severums, Uarus, most Aequidens, Cichlosoma, Crenicara, and Geophagus.
Shown in pairs, except for the very large fish.
- September 7, regular
meeting. Bowl Show: 1. Native Fish. Fish native to the
U.S., such as Bass, Sunfish, Minnows, Catfish, Killies, the Texas Cichlid,
wild Sail-fin Mollies (P. Iatipinna), and Mosquito Pish. Does not
include Carp, Brown Trout or other imported fishes. Fish shown must be the
native wild types, not hybrids. Shown in pairs, large species may be shown
alone. 2. All Other Non-Fish Aquarium Animals. Amphibians (frogs,
newts, salamanders), Lizards, Turtles and any other form of aquatic or
semi-aquatic life that is not a fish or an invertebrate.
October 5 meeting, Bowl show: 1. Oddballs. Any fish
not listed elsewhere; examples: Anableps, Archers, Butterfly Fish,
Eels Halfbeaks, Elephant noses, Knife Fish, Lungfish, and Mudskippers.
Freaks, mutations, and hybrids are not included. Shown as singles or
pairs. 2. Dwarf Cichlids. Includes Apistogramma, Nannacara, Kribs, Rams,
other small cichlids of similar disposition. Shown in pairs.
October 27, CAS Fall Auction. An all day
extravaganza featuring fish, fish and more fish, equipment, supplies and
plants. Bigger and better than ever!
- November 2,
regular members meeting. Bowl Show: 1. Catfish.
All catfish not listed elsewhere; examples: Upside-down Cats, Glass Cats,
Pimelodus types, Electric Cat, (Callichthyidae) and Plecostomus. Shown as
singles, smaller species better shown as pairs. 2. Anabantoids
Gouramis, Paradise Fish, Climbing Perch, and Bettas other than male Betta
splendens. Shown in pairs, except for female Betta splendens. Use dividers
