Colorado Aquarium Society, Friday, June 2, 2017 !

2017 @ 7:30 at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E. Hampden Ave. If you
enjoy the aquarium hobby, want to learn more about your fish and you want to
have access to new species and new varieties, join us once a month for a very
fishy experience. Non-members, visitors and guests are always
welcome. No cost to attend. Family friendly. Get Fishy!
Our guest speaker will be Mr. Robert
Grauer. He will be speaking on Care and Breeding of African
Cichlids! Robert has been involved in the aquarium hobby for
almost 50 years ,with everything from being a hobbyist, importer, wholesaler
and now a hobbyist again. He currently maintains 85 tanks, varying in size from
5-125 gallons. His tanks are filled with predominantly African Cichlids
from the Lakes of Tanganyika, Malawi and Victoria as well as a few streams,
ditches and wherever water can be found. Be sure to attend, this will be a

Our Bowl Show categories for June are: 1. Characins and
Tetras. Neon’s, Serpaes, Black Tetra, Flame Tetra, Piranha, Silver Dollars,
Metynnis, Headstanders, etc. Hatchets, Headstanders and Pencil Fish are
classified as non-characins by some, but are included in this class. Shown in
twos, with a divider, if necessary.
2. Barbs. All species of
the genera barbus, Barbodes, Capoeta and Puntius.
Shown in pairs or
twos. 3. Open class, bring your best to show!

Colorado Aquarium Society Board of Directors meeting, Friday, June
August 4, Monthly meetings of the Colorado Aquarium Society, back to
normal schedule of First Friday. July is a picnic, see following.
July picnic is scheduled for
Saturday, July 15th, 2017. Location is 46 Timber Trail, Idaho
Springs, CO 80452 (google map it) (Tory Brown's hide-a-way). Food
at 1:00. We will provide main dish, sides,beverages, plates,
utensils, etc. RSVP requested so we can plan. I
suggest that you come up early, there are hiking trails, biking trails, horse
trails, off-roading and scenic drives everywhere around the cabin. Hike,
come back to the cabin to eat, rest, socialize, let the kids nap, then go
hike again. Child and dog friendly, bring everyone. Elevation
is about 9,800', it will be cool with lots of tall pines and aspens for
shade, bring a jacket. Large deck for lounging and
conversation. If fire restrictions allow we will have a fire pit
going for Samoas. The drinking water is great, no chemical additives
and it is "unused" water! Only about 6 miles from Mt. Evans.
Nearby Public shooting range. Only 1 hour drive from SouthEast
Aurora, mostly paved, last mile is good gravel road. Make a day of it,
or Bring a sleeping bag and make a weekend of it. Free souvenir
